Kaspar Carr is a master thief, targeting businesses in the Chicago area. In STREET THIEF, he stakes out fresh opportunities in front of a documentary film crew, which gradually becomes complicit in his crimes. As the director and producer become entangled in the allure of their fascinating subject and the legal ramifications of their actions, Carr pursues a series of larger-scale and more dangerous jobs. All the while, he reveals how he came to choose this unconventional lifestyle.
If your reading this you either have seen the movie or don’t care to ruin it. After the movie ended, I had to google “Who is Kaspar Carr?”. Turns out the director (Malik Bader) is actually Kaspar Carr, a character he created for the movie. The movie seems to get compared to a Blair Witch type. I’m surprised this movie hasn’t gotten more hype, maybe I’m just in the wrong circles. Sad that I only found it through a Netflix suggestion. Definetly going to have to keep an eye out for more of his works. Let me know what you thought of the movie.
